Veronica Ufoegbune

Veronica Ufoegbune, Executive DirectorVeronica Ufoegbune (ooo-fway-boo-nay) received her EdD from Pepperdine University, MA from Mills College, and BA from the University of Benin in Nigeria. She started her early childhood education career path as a Montessori Teacher and has been the director for both nonprofit and for-profit programs, Head Start, Early Head Start, and most recently Alameda Unified School District. She had strong fiscal management skills and is adept at both grant-writing and fundraising. She speaks multiple languages and is a strong advocate for inclusion. 

Veronica is also active on several high-profile Alameda County, state, and national organizations focused on advocacy at county and state levels and advancing both quality and the need for greater access and affordability in early care and education. Her personal philosophy is that love, respect, and knowledge are critical ingredients in the raising of our children. She believes in partnering closely with families, caregivers, and teachers to ensure an inclusive and joyful community and high-quality education.
