Apply for care
ECEP accepts applications on a continuous basis. Please use the respective application according to your eligibility. This information can be found on our Enrollment Page.
Note regarding infant applications: Applications for infants can be initiated during pregnancy. Once your child is born, you will need to contact our office at moreida@berkeley.edu to provide name, gender, birth date, and eligibility for the application to remain valid.
Eligibility and waitlist
There is a great demand for our services, particularly for infants and young toddlers, and unfortunately we are not able to serve all families who apply. The FAQ provides detailed information about our Wait List and Eligibility List.
Schedule a tour
Once we receive your application, you can contact the main office to request a tour of one of our five centers.
If you are offered a space
Applicants will be notified of acceptance to the program and issued a contract. Placements are made at one of five centers, depending on the child’s age and available spaces at each center. Classroom and/or center assignments will change as the child ages.
Sign your contract
You will need to sign and return your signed contract. Additionally, you will be required to submit medical forms (to be completed by a physician), immunization records, and your child’s birth certificate. Based on your eligibility you may be required to submit additional documentation such as income verification, proof of UC Berkeley registration or staff status, training verification forms, etc.
For full fee applicants, a $700 non-refundable advanced payment will be required. This advanced payment will be applied to the last month’s (July) tuition.
